Beef and Onion Pies
Making pies at home is a great way to ensure quality ingredients. Especially when you add GOOD BONES Broth and serve them with GOOD Sauce. Here’s how we do it:
Brown some small onions, garlic and diced chuck beef in oil with a good seasoning of salt and pepper. Add a little tomato paste, dijon mustard, flour of choice and cook out for a couple of minutes, then add a good glug of red wine and GOOD BONES Beef Broth to make a thick sauce. Transfer to the oven and cook low and slow at 150°C for 2 hours. Adjust the seasoning and cool. You can use this for a casserole, pasta or pies.
For pies, spoon into short crust pastry lined pie tins, top with more pastry and brush with egg wash. Bake in 190°C oven for 20 minutes.
Serve with GOOD Sauce Tomato Ketchup.
The pies can be made, refrigerated and then reheated the next day. Another nourishing, delicious and nutritious meal idea by @cheftomwalton 👍
